My Visa Story.
Submitted by: Pari
UKI am a mum to a 21 month old boy. He is my life.
I have been following The Secret since 2017. I have been reading The Secret stories daily on this platform. Reading these stories makes me a more positive and optimistic person that grows more day by day.
I got married in 2015 and shifted to the UK with my husband. My marriage turned out to be the worst nightmare of my life. I went through all sorts of abuse. I used to cry in the night without letting my husband know about it. Somehow, I got the courage and with my family’s support, I left my abusive husband. Being an Asian, I was scared to leave him as I worried about what society would think about me.
In November 2019 I left my husband and shifted to a rented flat with my then one year old son. My husband canceled my visa, which was something that I knew he was going to do as I was his dependent and that would make me even more dependent on him. I applied for my own visa in the mid of March and I was told by the lawyer that it would take around four months which is the normal duration. Then the pandemic hit the world and my acquaintances and my lawyer told me that due to the current situation it might take up to six months.
I did not let me worry that I was not going to get my visa any time soon though. In fact, I was so calm all that time, and every night before going to sleep I was keeping a smile on my face and telling myself that I had received my visa earlier than the normal duration, even in the lockdown situation. I wrote a list of my top ten wishes on my phone notes. The first of which was to get my visa. I wrote; thank you, thank you, thank you, God, for getting my visa within 5 weeks. I wrote this at the end of April and surprisingly, I got my visa in the first week of June! I got my visa in less than three months which generally does not happen even in a normal situation.
The things that worked for me were keeping myself positive, even in situations that were not looking fruitful at the beginning. Before going to sleep I would thank the Universe and say thank you for fulfilling my wish, even before it was fulfilled. I made a list of my wishes and I would read the beautiful stories here every day. It all has helped me tremendously.
This is just one of my wishes that has come true and I know that every wish on my list will come true, one by one. Even when people tell me that it will not happen, I never lose faith in the Universe.
Last but not the least, thank you to Rhonda, you are a beautiful soul. Thank you to all the lovelies who write their stories on this platform and thank you to the Universe. May each of us get things in abundance. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Spread love. Spread peace. Love you all.
