My Truths With The Secret Law of Attraction.
Submitted by: MICHAEL B ORTIZ
San Francisco, CA & Miami, FL, United StatesI am a native of San Francisco, CA, and recently relocated by the Universe to Miami, FL. Validated and transformed by "The Secret".
I have always told myself that I had great timing at work. I seemed to always be at the right place at the right time whenever anything required my immediate attention. I have also always been able to find parking in busy San Francisco.
Those may seem like simple and silly things, but they have always been true, and it was not until recently that I began to understand why these things have been true.
I have been working for the same law firm for the previous 13 years and have been rewarded with generous compensation and opportunities. My most recent position allowed me to work as part of the team that visited our offices to coordinate build-outs, refurbishments, and relocations. It was very exciting and it allowed me to connect with staff throughout our wide network of international offices. As fulfilling as it was, I missed the direct connection with supervising staff and the fun of operating a local office.
We began the early work for an office expansion in our Miami office in May 2020 and over the next 2 years, I began visiting on a somewhat regular basis. I’m very good with people and create rapport easily, but I found my connection with the local staff stronger than in previous experiences. It always makes my visits something to look forward to and the work so much easier when you have advocates.
Over my many trips, I was able to build a friendship with the current Administrator and shared many laughs with each milestone we reached. But I sensed something amiss with her, that she was going to leave. Not that she wasn’t available or interested in our work, but I heard the statement: “She is leaving.” So I asked her and she denied it.
The following Friday, she invited me to lunch.
“I’ have decided to leave the firm and you should apply for my job.” She went into detail about my passion, dedication, etc., but I already knew what I wanted.
That afternoon, I was flying back to California and while I was at the airport, I called my Director and informed her that I was interested and would like to be considered for the position. She was wonderful, and supportive and suggested I return that next week to discuss whether it would be a good fit with the Miami leadership. The more I thought about the new role, the more I realized it was intended and what I was being directed to do. My oldest daughter attends college in Boston. The Administrator job became available a few years back in the Boston office. I remember thinking that I might apply.
I hesitated and then it was filled.
My youngest daughter was seriously considering attending Point Park in downtown Pittsburgh. The Administrator job became available in that office. I remember thinking that I might apply.
I hesitated and then it was filled.
I owned a property in the East Bay of San Francisco with my former wife. We had tenants for the last 10 years and they paid on time every month. They were reliable, settled, and were a family with small kids. I was fine keeping them there. My former wife was not and insisted that we sell. It was very unlike her to be so insistent, not at all her character, and I relented. The tenants were happy to move out and found a better home for their growing family. The house sold as is before it hit the MLS. It sold for asking and my former wife and I received a nice infusion of cash.
I was then immediately approved for a new home loan, which I sat on, unsure of what I wanted to do.
It was in that moment of sitting on the plane headed back to California, that I realized that the Universe had been trying to tell me the direction I needed to go. But I hadn’t been listening, until then.
While I sat at the dinner table back home in California, I announced to my family that I intended to apply for the Miami Administrator position and would be moving to Miami.
I had no guarantee that I would get the job, but I knew it was what I wanted.
I was so sure of my decision, I reached out to a Miami real estate agent and immediately directed her to identify property that I could view the following week. I contacted my loan officer and told them that I would be buying a primary residence in Florida.
I hadn’t even been offered the job yet, but I was certain. I began writing down everything that I knew were truths:
01. I am the Miami Office Administrator and am successful in my new role.
02. The Firm will start my salary of $XXX,XXX to relocate to Miami.
03. People in the office respond positively to me.
04. I have an efficiently run office with happy people that are passionate about their jobs.
05. I live in a 1 bdrm 2 bath condo one block away from work that I can easily afford.
I began the process of reading these statements out loud several times throughout the day. I was determined to manifest the life I wanted.
My lunch conversation happened on a Friday. I had an offer letter in my email the following Friday. The salary, relocation costs, and temporary housing costs the Firm offered equaled the exact amount I had written down.
I officially started in my position on June 1. I found a condo one block away from work 11 days later. I made an offer and I closed 30 days later. The condo was exactly as I had written down.
Thank you for The Secret and the law of attraction.
