My test of “The Secret”
Submitted by: Tucson Believer

In reading “The Secret,” it told me to apply a test. Ask for something small and it will appear. OK, so I did.
At the hotel where I work, we have some of the yummiest chocolate muffins I’ve ever eaten. They are rare and we only get them in the cafeteria if they are left over from the restaurant the day before. With hotel occupancy down, I haven’t seen any in over two months. Well, last week, I asked for a chocolate muffin.
Fast forward to today. I am leaving tomorrow for my final job interview in another state. Applying The Secret, I fully expect an outstanding offer that I can’t refuse, and I am going to give my two-week notice here on Monday. Knowing how they think here, I will likely be walked out the door shortly after giving my notice, so I’ve cleaned out my office of all things that I want to be sure I have.
I came into work this morning, walked into the cafeteria, opened the pastry drawer, and sitting front and center, looking so very pretty, is my chocolate muffin!!!!! Just the one, amongst all the other miscellaneous pastries. Yesterday was an exceptionally low occupancy day at the hotel, the coffee shop was closed, so realistically there shouldn’t have been any chocolate muffins made.
Even though I was already convinced, this sealed the deal! I can’t wait for my job offer and my move to a new city.
