My Son’s Discovery

The Secret had been on Netflix. I have the book and I do read it a lot but was really happy to watch it and have been watching it often. One of my sons has been watching it with me and didn’t know what to make of it (he’s 9). About 2 weeks earlier their Wii stopped working. I haven’t had enough money to purchase one right away. I have to save for it because the household bills come first. I mentioned to my ex mother-in-law that it broke and I was saving for a new one. She had just gone out and bought all their school supplies and school clothes and shoes for them.
My son after watching it says, ‘grandma is going to buy us a new Wii’. I asked him if she told him. He said no. ‘I know she is. I’m doing just like the movie said. I want one and we’re going to get it.’ I told him that grandma just paid out a lot of money for school supplies and clothes, that a Wii is more like a Christmas gift – that it costs too much money. He said ‘I believe she is going to give it to us’. Over and over again.
So the next morning again he told me that grandma is going to get it for them. I didn’t discourage him from thinking that. That afternoon I received a call from her letting me know she did buy them a new one (much to my surprise) and not to tell them.
We’re going to her house tomorrow and he will find out for himself that The Secret works.
