About 3 months ago I was introduced to The Secret by a very good friend of mine. I ordered the book online, and I started reading it. At first I thought it would be a novel, story, or something like that. I really had no idea what I was getting into. But I read the book, and right away I thought, “This is just another person trying to get rich.” (I’m a very negative person) But then I thought, “Why not try it? What am I gonna lose?”

It was very hard, being that I’m so negative. And then I thought, “Well, maybe that’s why I found myself in the situations I’m in… because I’m so negative.” And as hard as it was for me to change my thoughts, I managed to put it to the test with something simple. I concentrated my thoughts on this one particular flower – a Calla Lily… a white one with a very long stem. I got to visualize it, smell it, feel it, and I got to believe that it was actually mine.

2 weeks later my friend invited me over to her house for dinner, and when I arrived I noticed that she had Calla Lilies as the center piece of her dinning table. I was amazed. When it was time for me to leave her beautiful daughter grabbed one and gave it to me, saying, “I was watching TV and they said that it makes people happy when they get flowers, so this one is for you.” I smiled and left the house with tears coming down my face.
