In the first week of January, I found out that my company was not renewing my contract which ended in 3 weeks. Immediately they stopped giving me work and told me to stay home and check my inbox once a day. As a single mother who was paid hourly, this was far from ideal.

I decided to download The Secret and re-listen to it as it has always been such a great reminder of how to live in happiness. Within an hour things had started to change. I received an email from a woman I had not seen in over six years asking me to come to photograph her retreat the following weekend. On downloading the schedule, I realized the retreat was a manifestation.

I then spent the next two weeks living The Secret. I stopped listening to the news and watched only funny TV shows, giving thanks every day for my new job that would be close to my home and would not entail rounds of interviews. I started updating my resume, but before I could send it out, a friend posted on social media about a job at her company just around the corner from me. I applied for it, got a phone call back within twenty minutes, and the next day I was offered the job. This job came out of nowhere and I start on Monday.
