After reading The Secret I thought I would do what they have said in the book, and start with something small.

I have not been happy in the job I am in for some time, and it was really frustrating me. After reading The Secret I thought I would focus on getting a new, higher-paying job before Christmas.

So for the first few weeks I was applying for at least 15 jobs a day. Most of the replies I got were a ‘no’, but I was making sure I was putting out there that I wanted a new higher paying job.

Then, last week, a gentleman came in to borrow a broom. He works for another company that the owner of this one owns.

We had a chat and then we got to talking about how quick the business is growing and how they are expecting to hire more people in the coming year.
So I asked “Are you looking for anyone at the moment?” The reply I got was “Sure, go talk to the boss and he will get you signed up so you don’t have to apply”. So I went down stairs and had a chat with the boss. We were actually good friends as I worked with his step daughter for awhile, and got along really well. He told me to come by the office the next day, and I will be signed up for training and to do a certificate IV in business administration.

I spoke with his assistant a few days later and she said she will send me a new employment pack in the mail and a letter of offer.

I have received the letter, and just as I put out to the universe, I’m starting in the new year and my pay is higher than my old job. I was over the moon to find that The Secret worked for me.

So I don’t start until the new year but I got offer the job before then so I’m not going to argue.

That’s my story and my next aim is to have my beautiful car working in the next few months. It needs a new engine.
