When I first came across The Secret, I had the hardest time believing in it because it seemed too good to be true. That was until I experienced it in my own life.

I am a University student and currently attend one of the best schools in my country. I had always gotten amazing grades throughout my life, always finishing at the top of my classes. In my second year of University, though, things were really tough, and one course in particular was problematic for me.

I had studied extremely hard for my midterm exam, yet I ended up with a 66%, which was devastating because this was the lowest grade I had received in my whole life. After doing some calculations based on the weights of all my assignments, quizzes and exams, I knew that the highest mark I could possibly achieve in this course was an 86% and that was only if I scored a 100% on my final exam. At my school, any mark between 80 and 90 is considered an A, so I aimed to get an 80% as my final mark and get that A. I worked hard but stopped stressing about it, which made me even more productive.

When the exam came, I knew how to answer every question and I was extremely happy during and after the exam. The marks were posted up and I got an 88% on my final exam, which was higher than what I aimed for so I was really happy. I had finally achieved an A in a course that was really difficult for me!

I was in for an even bigger surprise; when I checked my transcript, beside the course was an A+, a grade that corresponds to a 90% or more. I could not believe my eyes, I recalculated everything and there is no way I could have gotten that mark after bombing my midterm exam. I kept staring at that mark because I thought it would disappear somehow and I checked back everyday to make sure it was real, and yes, it’s still there.

I finally understand that it was my happiness and gratitude that allowed me to achieve this miraculous grade. There is really no explanation for this except for believing in yourself completely and working towards your goal without the fear of failure.
