I had just resigned from a very big organization only because the relationship between a particular lady colleague was not right and it affected every cell inside me and affected every second of my work. For some reason that particular negative emotion had taken over my entire life. I was pushing my best friends away and constantly fighting with my parents. I had made wrong friends while growing up and had been through many years of heart breaks because of bad relationships, this just added fuel to the fire.

During the period after my resignation I started feeling free and felt that I was in control of my life and destiny. But because of all my past negative thoughts (I realize now) I became very ill. During that phase one day suddenly, a particular senior from the organization I had just resigned called me up. I considered her my role model and was in awe of her and never expected her to give me a call (I was just one of her many juniors). We started talking about everything – the good, bad, and ugly. That’s when she told me about The Secret. I had heard about it on The Oprah show back in 2006 but it never really stuck with me. I saw the small clip on youtube and was fascinated. I used up whatever was left of my savings to buy the book.

The very first thing I did was make a vision board and stuck pictures of everything that I wanted from life. However the pictures that really attracted me were pictures that I had stuck of couples. I had stuck pictures of happy couples having fun, deeply in love and imagined them to be my life partner and I. I wrote down a description of him in detail. I went through them daily, imagined, believed, felt and sent my gratitude to the Universe.

After about a month I had gone for a wedding when a particular guy caught my attention and I immediately knew I had caught his too. The entire day passed and we did not speak a word. Just before he was about to leave he came up to me and said “Hi! I am the grooms brother, and I know everyone in this room except you. Are you the bride’s friend?” I cleared his doubts and by then it was time for him to go.

I was really mesmerized by his charm and I kept thinking about him every day for the next 2 months. Imagining him and I together and I also continued with my vision book. I never connected my wish in my vision book with him, and never realized this was what I had been wishing for.

Just 2 month after we first met I was at my best friend’s place talking about him and when I checked online I realized he contacted me through a social networking site. We began chatting then talking and since then have been together. It has been 4 years of togetherness and more than a year of marriage.The most magical thing about our relationship is that he is 10/10 the exact description and we do all the things together which the couples in my vision book pictures are doing.

I thank the Universe that it works on such a great principle and gives us the power to control our destiny. I thank all the people who discovered this Power and used it. I thank all the people especially Rhonda Byrne and the team for rediscovering the power of thought and making it available to the common man in a way that everyone understands. Thank you to JJ from the organization I worked for because of whom I resigned, because if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have reached the point of desperation to try anything to change my life around. Thank you to my senior MN to have introduced me to the book The Secret. My thanks to everything and everyone big and small instrumental in bringing us together.
