My Little Success Story
Submitted by: Ithan Jessemar Dollente
Baguio City, PhilippinesI'm a student who wants to try out something new: "The Happy Diet"
Since the start of the year, I resolved to keep a happy diet. It is a new mode of living living a life void of stress and worries. It has been five months now, and though at times I forget this diet, I strive to return to pace.
And, all that I can say, is that it has made a real difference. Blessings have never stopped flowing. And it gets even better.
A New Name
I just got back my second name Jessemar. There had been a problem about my birth certificate, but it was resolved just a month ago. It was, as expected, another strenuous process to update my documents. Im thankful that no breakdowns took place.
I feel so fulfilled and complete. It just gives me a new reason to change for the better.
Chemical Engineering
I am part of a scholarship program, which I am really thankful of. But they did not intend to give us the scholarship because our chosen course was not part of their intended courses for scholarship grants. So we sent letters of appeal and waited for two years.
The fight for our course has just ended, and we won. The Science and Education Institute of the scholarship program permitted us to take up the course registered on our scholarship contract Chemical Engineering.
It just feels so good that you achieved what youve fought for so very long. Now that we got what we want, well really prove our worth. That was part of our contract both the scholarship, and the petitioners contracts. Well never lose track of this dream again. =D
Health
Im proud to say that I have a normal BMI for two-and-a-half years now. My secret is that I surround myself with happiness. And oh yes, Im still able to gorge in some of my favorite treats.
I found the time for exercise (of course, it’s important).
I gave myself treats a new set of surround speakers for music, a more mean-ass personal computer, DVDs simply everything that makes me happy. So when Im restless or stressed, stress-busters are at hand.
Friends
This year, I got to patch things up with high school batch mates. Issues were clarified, new relationships blossomed, others moved on. I saw that they all matured, but the connection is still present. That reunion insinuates that nothing beats high school. My college friends are awesome. College is cool with them around.
They know who they are, and Im thankful that we guide each other every step of the way.
School
School gives me every reason to break my diet. The sensory overload is really unbearable, plus, too much school works make things worse. I’m just thankful that my classmates are there to help us.
I will be, come June, facing major studies. Im worried but ecstatic. No matter what happens, Ill try to paint a smile on my face.

My Happy Diet can be simplified in these terms: There is but one diet rule: HOPE FOR THE BEST, IN THE BEST MINDSET.
Every stressful task deserves a sweet escape, every restless moment deserves a long break.
I have a new name, a new course, and a new objective, and I have the Lord, the universe, and The Secret to thank for it.
