Ok, I just want to preface my story by saying, by nature, I am a skeptic. If I can’t see it, smell it, taste it, touch it, then it’s not real. That is just my personality.

My friend was telling me about this DVD called “The Secret” about positive thinking and intention. She told me she really wanted me to watch it because I am an open-minded person and I would totally enjoy the visuals if nothing else. I said ok. In about 5 minutes I was totally immersed with what was said about the power of intention and the law of attraction. After I watched it I decided I would put in into practice.

There was this famous actor, whom I totally loved and I really wanted to meet him. I didn’t know how I was going to meet him, but I knew that I had to be available for anything or be open for the possibility.

In San Diego there’s a huge convention that happens every year called Comic-Con. Anyone who’s remotely into prime time TV shows and comic books were going to be there. Now here’s the thing – the tickets costs about $75.00, but I didn’t want to pay that. A friend of mine said that if I wanted to get in for free, just volunteer. Over 125,000 people normally shows up at these conventions, including celebs. I didn’t know if my favorite person, Ron Perlman (Hellboy), was going to be there. All I knew was that I was supposed to sign up and let the chips fall where they may. I signed up in January of 2008, and in June I got my confirmation letter via e-mail saying I was accepted. I had totally forgotten I signed up.

To make a long story short, I volunteered for 5 days. 1st, 2nd, 3rd – no Ron. But I could not lose hope. On the 4th day, I was supposed to volunteer at the blood drive at the Marriot next to the convention center. A friend of mine was to meet me at the convention center. My friend and I arrive, and our job was to direct people into the “blood room”. I happened to be sitting outside of the room, and inside the blood room, there were these huge windows where you could see everything outside; the pool, the lounge chairs, bar, etc. The scenery was beautiful. My friend and I were just talking about getting good seats to watch a movie Ron was going to be in. Just I got the words out of my mouth, Ron Perlman walks by the window where I was seated! Of course I became incoherent, and my friend became very concerned. I told her, IT’S HIM!! I ran outside where he was, and to make sure, I called him by his last name. He answered, and I was in total shock! He was the nicest person in the world, and talked to me for a few minutes. I told him I really appreciate him and his family and basically wished him well. He said he hoped he’d see me at the panel discussion that night, and I told him I guarantee that he would see me.

The panel discussion started after midnight and I was right in front with my friend. He did see me and smiled. Here’s the kicker… after the panel discussion was over a hoard of people stormed the table where he was, and he was signing autographs – just his basic signature. I saw all these people, and I swear this is true and I am not exaggerating, it was like the path was parted just for me to walk straight to where he was. I walked up to him, without any fighting from other people, no pushing, shoving, nothing. I walked up to him, gave him my journal and he signs it, “To Monique… Go Yankees.” Then he signed his name. He and I are Yankees’ fans. He took the most time signing my journal. It was amazing. Here is the most amazing thing of the whole story:

Right above his autograph, I wrote a short passage. It read, “Today is the day I meet Ron Perlman. Today is the day I meet with destiny.”

I took 2 pictures with him and now I have it framed in my house. And I’ve been telling EVERYONE about the Secret! It truly works when you use the tools that are provided in the DVD – there is no way it can’t work. I am a skeptic no more!

Every day since that moment I have been the most grateful, thankful, happy, everything – because of the Secret. Thank you so much!
