Although I was over 50 and knew that finding a new job would be very difficult, I decided to bring the power of The Secret to bear to help me find more fulfilling work.

I sat down and made out a wish list for this job. Hours would be flexible, I would be autonomous, I’d get to travel around, colleagues would be supportive and become good friends and I had the best boss in the world. I specified the salary I wanted and I even drew a plan of my new office. There was a creamy sofa, a specific rug, a round table in the corner with four chairs, etc., etc. And just for fun, so I would know it was definitely my job, I threw in the specification that in this job there would be a free fruit. Never in my life have I worked in an office that offered a free fruit!

Every day I visualized myself in my new office and every day I wrote an imaginary letter to a friend telling her about my new job and how much I loved it. I really poured my heart and soul into it and every day and night, I thanked the Universe for finding this job for me.

Today, I am in my new job and I love it!

I choose my own hours, the job involves trips around the country, my colleagues are fantastic and many have become good friends. The salary I wanted, I got! In my office is a round table with the four chairs and in the lounge is the carpet I imagined and the cream sofas!

However, I did not get the dream boss I asked for, because to my surprise, I AM the boss! That, I did not expect or ask for! But one day, I realized that all the qualities I asked the Universe to provide in my boss were in fact, all qualities that I myself possessed and so the Universe gave me what I asked for!!!

Oh, and guess what?

Scattered around the lounges are bowls full of delicious apples, bunches of grapes and bananas for the staff to help themselves.

The Secret is fantastic. When you truly understand that you actually can create your own life, that you are not a victim of chance or circumstance, it is the most liberating, empowering, mind-blowing realization ever!

I am so grateful to Rhonda Byrne for sharing this incredible knowledge with us. Truly, what a gift The Secret is. I just wish I had discovered it when I was younger, but better late than never!
