I was unexpectedly let go from my job almost two weeks ago. I was shocked and scared. I had NO savings and no credit cards to fall back on. I was basically living pay check to pay check like many of us do. Instead of letting the fear of being broke and unemployed crush my spirit, I vowed I would use what I had learned from The Secret… stay POSITIVE, be grateful for what the Universe had already given me so far in my life, and have unwavering faith that all would be ok.

I immediately went home that night and started applying for jobs. Within a few days I had two interviews scheduled, one of which I am 100% confident I will be offered. I am so excited, however money was running out. I was trying to make what I had left last as long as I could. I was being very careful not to spend anything. It was difficult, but I had to do it. I have children at home and am a single mom, so not spending money is hard as you can understand!

Today, I stopped at a gas station to put $10 worth of gas in my car, pulled out my wallet. I knew that I had $40 left there. I counted it just yesterday, I was positive. As I was waiting in line I had a thought just pop into my head out of nowhere: “Wouldn’t it be so wonderful if I had more money than I thought??” At that moment as I reached for a $20 dollar bill to give to the clerk, I saw that I didn’t have just two $20 bills left as I had expected, I suddenly had THREE! I was flabbergasted! Where did that extra $20 come from?? The clerk had to ask me if I was ok, as I was just staring into my wallet in disbelief! A tear came to my eye and I got goose bumps… it was The Secret. I know it. Sure, maybe I miscounted, but honestly I don’t think so.

However that $20 came to magically appear in my wallet doesn’t matter. All I know is it gave me so much hope. I knew at that moment that all really would be ok. I love my life. I am so grateful for all the good things I have experienced thus far and I know there are many more around the corner as long as I BELIEVE.
