I have been using The Secret since 2009 when a friend of mine told me about it.

Many wishes that I have had so far came true. I tried to write about them here, alas, I never got published, but this time I know I will. However, I have never had success with money. I just didn’t feel it. I had tried The Secret checks several times and nothing. I was too afraid to believe. Until two days ago.

It all started last week, when I was strolling through Athens with my boyfriend whose family we were visiting for a month during Christmas. And yes, you guessed it right, many wishes being granted at once just in this simple situation.

I don’t really have so much money for myself, being still a newbie in my job which is freelance translation. I was in a kind of a shopping spree when a thought crossed my mind. Oh how nice it would be, if I had 10,000 Czech crowns just for buying clothes. Mind you, I lost 10 kilos last year and got my dream internship in the European Commission in Luxembourg starting in March, thank you, Universe!.
So I could really use a new wardrobe.

And the following thought was: but I don’t want to get the amount in real money, because then I would feel too bad to use it all in “vanity”, when I could save it for something more important.

Lo and behold, I came back from Greece to see my family and catch up on Christmas and what did I get from my mom?

8,000 in vouchers that can be used in a variety of shops, including my favorite clothing brands, that she won in some contest at work!

I remembered my wish and I was thinking, the Universe almost got it right, but not quite, how odd.

And then, the next day the real miracle happened!

My mom said, I have something more for you. Another 2,000 in the same vouchers!

She was going to give them to her colleague who helped her with the contest, but turned out he got his own share. So she gave them to me.

Of course I was happy, but it wasn’t until later that the whole thing added up in my brain and I was as if struck by lightning!

8,000 + 2,000 = 10,000, exactly what I wanted!

Amazing!

Tears were running down my cheeks when I called my mom to tell her.

I always come here and read the stories or play the game when I am losing hope. It just works!
