I first learned about The Secret in 2010 after my mom bought the DVD. I really was nott interested in watching it at the time because I did not understand the concept of the law of attraction and how I had the ability to manifest my destiny. After watching the movie I was so inspired and after my first experience applying the law of attraction, I became a firm believer.

One day at the mall I came across a beautiful Coach purse that I knew I had to have. It cost $400 and since I was a high school senior working part time as a hostess, it was way out of my price range.

I did not let that stop me from figuring out a way to get the bag. I already asked my mom to buy it but she said no. I started by imagining how happy I would feel once I bought the purse and posted a picture of it as the screensaver on my laptop and on the wall in my bedroom. I wanted to be reminded of what my goal was.

The movie also talked about writing a check to ourselves for the amount of money we hope to receive. I wrote a check to myself for $400 to be received on May 19th. I chose this specific date because that was the day I would receive my next check from work. I made money based on tips so I was focused on working extra hard at work to earn enough money to buy my dream purse.

It was Wednesday, May 19th and I left work forgetting to pick up my check. When I arrived home, my mom’s friend was visiting. He asked me about my plans after graduation and about what I would like as a graduation gift. Of course I mentioned the purse because that was the only thing I have wanted for a while. My mom stepped in and told him not to buy it for me because it was too expensive and I should ask for something more reasonable.

Fortunately he did not listen to her and decided to write me a check for $400 and told me to wait until the purse went on sale and pocket the rest!

I was so excited! I ran upstairs to my room to put it in a safe place and as I was placing it in my drawer, I saw the check I wrote to myself. It was $400 written for May 19th. I stared at it and just cried. No one knew that I wrote this check to myself which made me even more amazed. After crying and getting over my shock, I told my mom and her friend and turned them into believers.

The purse went on sale the following week and I got an extra discount since my mom’s friend worked at the department store! I ended up paying $147.00.

The law of attraction really worked for me during that time and continues to bless me. I am still amazed at how fortunate I am and I believe that God brought The Secret into my life for a reason. I continue to motivate people to think positively and I share this story as a testimony of how we are capable of manifesting our own destiny.
