Max And The Bad Pillow.
Submitted by: Sabrina Chiu
Hong Kong, ChinaI am a 12-year-old kid who loves to play sports and socialize with others. I am creative and I love writing as well.
Once upon a time, there was a 9 year old boy called Max and he got bullied at school a lot.
One day, the bullies came across a store that sells magic pillows. The good pillows let customers have great dreams. Like owning expensive cars, having a lot of money, or being really handsome or pretty. It was a very popular thing to buy. But there was 1 pillow no one was willing to buy. It was the bad pillow. Instead of having good dreams like the good pillow, it was the opposite. It made people frightened. Therefore, no one bought it. Except for the bullies. They wanted to prank Max since his birthday was coming up soon. They bought the bad pillow at a low price and gave it to Max as a birthday present while having huge grins on their faces. Max was delighted and grateful to receive a present since he had no friends.
Max immediately threw away his old pillow and used his new one. At night, he had all the bad dreams the bullies expected. However, Max was a positive thinker. In his dreams, he dreamed of failing his classes and getting bullied. But, instead of being scared, he lived the opposite life he had in his dream. He was failing classes at school. And when he experienced it in his dreams as well, he wanted to put a stop to it.
Instead of dreading every class he had, he became excited. He could not wait to learn more. He started taking notes and actually paying attention. He also answered the questions. He quickly improved and got straight A’s.
In his dream, he was bullied, as well as in real life. So, he decided to stand up for himself. He wasn’t afraid, and usually, when bullies called him names, he cried. But this time, he stood up. The bullies tried even harder to bully him. Like calling him a loser and twat. But Max just didn’t care. He said to the bullies, “Thank you, I am improving.”’
Max’s attitude in life changed a lot and shocked the bullies. The bullies soon stopped bullying him. Instead, the bullies were the ones who went to the store and asked, “Do you have any more bad pillows to sell to us?”
In real life, there aren’t good or bad pillows but there are bad things that happen to us. Although we can’t change what happened, we can change the way we see those things and that is all it matters.
