Manifesting Is Real, My Story Is Living Proof!
Submitted by: Rachelle T.
West Palm BeachI'm a strong, independent, newly separated mother of two awesome sons. An intrepid traveler who is lucky enough to be working in a career that I have an absolute passion for and that is selling high end European textiles. I have always been able to work for myself from home, which allowed me to spend that precious time nurturing my boys. I am also fortunate enough to travel through my work and never get tired of that. I am entering a new phase in my life with hopes to inspire others!
As I look back, I realize that I’ve been manifesting want I’ve wanted my entire life. It wasn’t until I had a chance meeting with a charming stranger in New York City that I became aware that what I was doing was actually the phenomenon taught in the book, ‘The Secret’!
I was sitting all alone in a cafe, while on business in NYC, when a man opened the door to the cafe and asked me if he could sit next to me. I said that he could and we proceeded to talk. I told him about all of my adventures and the many experiences that I had had up until that time and he said that it sounded like I was utilizing the knowledge used in the book called “The Secret”. I didn’t know what he was talking about at the time and just kind of shrugged it off and didn’t think too much of it. Then when I returned home, my girlfriend asked me if I had seen the Oprah show because they had been talking about the book called “The Secret”! I knew this was much more than a coincidence. I rushed home and downloaded The Secret DVD on my computer and couldn’t believe it when I watched it. I was unconsciously manifesting everything into my life without knowing I was purposely doing it.
I have always been ‘guided’ by some unseen force, which I feel is my guardian angel. Time after time, I was shown the way, avoiding many sketchy situations and also leading me to many amazing life changing events. I always ‘knew’ that I just needed to trust that little voice in my head. And it’s lead me to where I am today.
The first major occurrence was when I met my mentor, my cousin Sandi, when I was just a toddler. She was a successful interior designer who lived in New York City. From the minute I saw her, I was in amazement. She was so beautiful and worldly. I wanted to be just like her. When I was eleven, my parents sent me to visit her. I worked in her studio and that’s when I fell in love with fabrics! Sandi couldn’t drag me away from her office as I arranged and re-arranged her fabric samples! I subsequently went on to attend college and got a degree in interior design and later, with another chance meeting, ended up having a career in the textile industry. My dream of becoming a designer and being like my cousin came true with the exception that I ended up moving to Florida because I liked the weather more than in NYC! So from that early age, I was already designing my destiny.
For years I worked two jobs, one as a fabric sales rep and the other waitressing at the local Beefsteak Charlie’s. I made pretty decent money as a 23 year old and with it came the partying, the string of disappointing boyfriends and the traveling. During this time, I also had an insatiable quest for everything and any anything metaphysical. I read every book I could get my hands on regarding past lives, re-incarnation, karma, and psychic phenomena. On a solo trip to Greece, I had my own spiritual experience. All of it is 100% true.
I had been flying in and out of Athens in order to hop on planes to get to all the Greek Islands I had wanted to visit. Rather than waste time on ferries, I decided to take planes. During one stopover in Athens, I met a nice Greek guy who invited me for coffee at a beachside cafe just on the outskirts of the city. As we were about to leave, a gypsy fortune teller came up to me and wanted to talk to me, to tell me something important. My Greek friend tried to shoo her away, but the gypsy was determined to tell me my fate. I gave her 5,000 drachmas and she proceeded to tell me that “Years from now, you will go far from your home. It will be the best thing you’ll ever do in your life and it will affect you for the rest of your life. You need to remember the name ‘Juergen’ because he’s the ‘one’!” I thought that Juergen sounded like a German name and I didn’t think that I’d ever be going to Germany. It was a never a country I was particularly interested in. Well there’s that old saying, “never say never”!
Years later, after being disillusioned with my life, not meeting anyone special, and recalling all the young backpackers I had met during my time in Greece, I decided to move to Italy to learn Italian. I figured that if those backpackers could do it, then so could I. I wanted to have an experience like that before I was too old and might not ever be able to do it. I then told my boss at the time that I was going to Italy for six months and if he wanted to fire me, that was OK with me. I rented out my condo and put all my stuff in storage and marked a date on my calendar when I would be leaving. Before I left for Italy, I had another life changing encounter. I attended a trade show with my boss and it was there that I met a German man who owned a textile mill. When he heard that I was planning on moving to Italy, he offered me a job in his factory, to help him with the colors for his American customers. To shorten the story a bit, I ended up working there for a year and then eventually moved to Rome for another year. Six months ended up to be two years living in Europe and one of them in Germany!
As the two years were coming to an end, my father implored me to come back home to the States. He was tired of sending me money and thought that I had had enough of the fun and games galavanting all over Europe. So the last week that I was there, I traveled back to Germany to spend time with some friends I had made there and to ditch the clunker that I had bought while living in Germany. The night before I was set to get on the plane for my return to America, I went to a party, by myself, as a friend I was supposed to go with got sick and couldn’t go. Looked across the room while on the dance floor, I locked eyes with a cute guy smiling at me. It was love at first sight. We were like magnets and immediately came together. I told him my name and nearly fell over when he told me his. His name was Juergen, the name the gypsy told me so many years before!
After pining away for years, thinking that I was never going to find him, I met the love of my life. At the time, I was 31 and Juergen was 23. I always felt that I was searching for something but never knew what it was that I was searching for until I met Juergen. When we met, I felt that I had been looking for him for lifetimes. All during my twenties, I thought that it was spirituality that I was missing but in reality, it was Juergen that I missed.
We ended up marrying. After doing a long distance romance for awhile, he came to America. We had our boys and lived our lives, gradually becoming like brother and sister and have since separated. Initially, I was hurt but realize that everything happens for a reason. There is no sense dwelling on something that I can not change. I have always been independent and strong and can’t rely on someone else to make me happy.
I look back and think of how ‘The Secret’ came into my life that one day with the stranger in NYC and marvel at the many amazing experiences I’ve had since. I’ve been so fortunate to have a career that I absolutely love, to find my soul mate who gave me my amazing and gorgeous sons and don’t regret anything for one minute. Having them is my most important accomplishment and the gift of love that I have for them is priceless.
I’ve inspired so many others with my stories and know that I am about to begin a new chapter, possibly inspiring others to “The Secret’ or maybe even having a reality show combining my love of travel with my passion for fabrics. I know that whatever I do, I just have to trust that the Universe has so much more in store for me and that I just have to believe that I’ll be manifesting everything else that I want in my life, like I have done so many times before. I think that I’ve been lead to this website to share my inspirational story with others. There are so many things that have happened in my life that are truly amazing. And I am so excited to tell others how they too can have all that they’ve dreamed of, if they just believe. My story is living proof that dreams can become a reality. And I’m not done yet!
