Manifested My Ideal Job.
I would like to start by thanking Ms. Rhonda Byrne for introducing The Secret and all the subsequent books into the world and for The Secret team for working hard to bring The Secret Super App into existence.
I used to work for a big company as a contractor for around 2 years. During that time I was promised that my role would be converted from being a contractor to full time employment. Instead of looking for new opportunities from the start, I decided to get comfortable and stay. My initial few months in the company were great. I had a wonderful manager, mentor, and great colleagues with whom I got along really well with and I was truly happy. However, with organizational changes and Covid, my role never became permanent but I still waited, hoping something would change.
During this time, my team came under new management, and something just wasn’t right anymore. Many of my colleagues, including my old manager, left the company to take other roles. So at that time, it felt like it was time to change. In March I started looking for a new role but not as actively seeking it as I should have been. By then I had a new manager and things still didn’t get any better. I was burned out every week and the work just never took a break.
I interviewed with different companies, but for various reasons, it never progressed beyond a certain stage. Come August, I was informed my contract was to end at the end of September and there was nothing I could do to extend it.
I initially started panicking but I told myself to pull it together and remember The Secret teachings. I thought to myself, this is happening because I stuck with the same job despite being unhappy. This is the Universe’s way of showing me that I needed to be more serious in my job search to find my perfect opportunity.
So to start with, I listed out what I wanted in my new role, and once I felt happy with it, I let it go. Then I started applying for various roles on LinkedIn. I wanted a role in NYC or Jersey city so that my commute would be easy and I wouldn’t have to rely on a car too much. In addition to that, I gave gratitude for my job, as if I already had it. Whenever I would go out for a walk, I would get the most amazing view of the NYC skyline and would think, I am meant to see this view, over and over again.
By then, my contract had ended but despite that, I would treat every day like a workday. So I would wake up early, freshen up, and start my day. While on LinkedIn, I came across a job that had everything I had asked for. I thought it was too good to be true. I applied immediately but something told me this wasn’t enough. I ended up messaging an executive of the company, who to my surprise, internally referred me for the role and put me in touch with the hiring manager. A few weeks passed before I got the interview. After my first interview, I started journaling about what I would do in my job, the info I would need from different company folks, and any documents I would need to read.
I interviewed with more folks and finally met the executive I had initially messaged. We had a great conversation and by then I had a pretty good idea of the role and their expectations and I was very happy with everything. They told me they would let me know in a week about whether I got the role or not.
Knowing the kind of person I am, I knew that I would start to become impatient, so I decided to take a trip to visit friends in Seattle and later California. I made sure that during this time I would have a great time and not think about my job. While on my vacation, I got the most amazing news! I was offered the job! The salary was what I wanted, the role was perfect, the location is perfect, and I essentially got everything I asked for. I was so happy, I could not contain my excitement. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
My new role starts soon and I am so super excited about it. I am so thankful that The Secret came into my life and made all this possible. I can’t wait to apply The Secret and the law of attraction to other aspects of my life and make my dreams a reality.
