After Christmas, I had attended a post holiday secret Santa gift exchange. Earlier in the week, my mission was to buy a gift for a man for $20. I headed to Marshalls intending to find gloves and a scarf. I was excited to find a super soft scarf on clearance but I didn’t see what I wanted for style and size in gloves. I grabbed the scarf and some socks and headed to the checkout feeling a little disappointed but still hopeful that I would find what I needed. While in line, I kept thinking and imagining how nice it would be to find the perfect pair of thin, black, size xl gloves.

It was almost my turn to check out. When I took a few steps further in line, I noticed a pair of black, men’s gloves amongst the mug display. They were the exact size and style I needed! When I got to the checkout, the friendly cashier offered to check my items for additional markdowns and she was able to reduce the price of all three of my gifts, so I bought everything for $16. I felt like I had just won the lottery!
