I graduated from University in 2007 and due to unemployment in my country, I couldn’t find a job. It was either I had no experience or I was overqualified for the posts I applied for. The jobs I would get were temp jobs and far apart. Then in 2010 I saw The Secret book at a friend’s place and I asked to borrow it. She said you can keep it. I immediately began reading it and I was overly excited. I always knew we are not merely humans but super beings. Then I began to visualise, I would think of a friend I hadn’t spoken to in a long time and that person would call me. My story is divided two big things I have manifested.

I told my friends I wanted a boyfriend. I described him to a tee, his traits, personality and physical appearance and that the first thing he would do when we met was hold my hand. So my friends use to play jokes about it. When we would all go out together they would trick me and send a guy to hold my hand. This was in August 2010.

Anyhow, in September 2010 it was my sister’s baby shower and we decided to go out after the event. So at about 12 that night I saw a guy I fancied and told my friends. This one knew nothing about my plan. One of my friends said she knew him and said she would introduce me to him. When he came over, this other guy was chatting me up. He came over and held my hand and said to the other guy, “Excuse me, this is my girlfriend. And today we have been together for 6 years, have a son and are marrying soon.

About work. I would visualise the job I wanted. At first what I wanted to do was to get an internship in my field of study then get a job as a Information Officer. So I would visualise all the time. Then there was a vacancy in an internship I wanted and I applied, was called in for an interview and I nailed it.

Three weeks later I received a letter stating I did not get it. I ripped the letter up and said that post is mine. Two weeks later I got a call from the department asking me to bring in my academic record, and I did. Three days later I was called and was told that I should report to work on Monday.

While I was there a post for an Information Officer was advertised. I emailed them but my email would not go through. I asked my boyfriend to go to those offices and hand over a hard copy. The lady said they were not taking resumes anymore but said she would look through my resume. She was impressed and so she asked the lady in charge to accept it.

Five days later I was called in and I got the job. I have been an Information Officer for 4 years and now I am ready for the next chapter in my life. I want to take a 6 month break to rest and go back to school full-time to be a chef and open my own business. Watch the space.
