I finally have the chance to pen down my story of successfully applying The Secret here. I promised to myself that I would share it when I got the job and I did get a job offer a few days ago. Thank god.

I came to know about The Secret through a friend of mine and frankly I did not practice it well, though I do believe in it and now I know you have to be firm and clear about what you want else you will get mixed results like what I did in pursuing my new job. Here is my story that happened recently related to my job hunt:

I am a Malaysian but I work in Singapore, a neighbour country to Malaysia. I was happy to get a job in Singapore but after 5 months of working the company closed down and retrenched all the staff – I am one of them. It happened so suddenly and I was not ready for it and I was stuck in the middle as I had made a big decision to leave a good job in Malaysia to pursue my dream job in Singapore (I thought it would be one at that time). I was in despair and could not make up my mind whether to return to my home country or stay on in Singapore (foreigner requires a job to stay). Time was running out and there were not many jobs available at that time (economy crisis, market still picking up), and the industry I work in is quite specialized in a way (water industry).

I did not know what to do as I seriously did not see any vacancy in the recruitment website. And so I thought of giving up and changing my job. I think because of my indecisive mind my dream job took a long time to manifest.

Then one day I remembered The Secret so I watched the video and started thinking good thoughts. Then things started to get better. I had heard from the recruitment agency telling me that their client is on the look out for a process engineer. And I had heard back from the company that I had attended an interview previously but decided to keep me in view. At the end I managed to get two offers that came one after another. I turned down the first one without knowing the other company I liked would hire me (I really liked the company and believed with all my heart I would get it). The amazing thing that happened after I turned down the first job – I got my dream job that I had dreamed so badly to get.

It was only then I realized why it took a long time to manifest, because I was indecisive of what I wanted, though I was in line with what I want.

Remember, be firm and clear in what you ask or else risk getting mixed results. How did I manifest my job? I used gratitude in my everyday life. I made myself a new business card, a letter of offer, an email notifying me of the job offer. Listened to my favorite music and started imagining me getting to work. I found out that when the thing is almost manifesting you will get an intuition of you getting hold of it. As I remembered I felt my mind being free and relaxed before the thing manifested. I guessed it must be the sign.

Thank you for letting me work for the company as a process engineer. I know I will enjoy my work there though I still have not started to work. It was a blessing for me to be jobless so that I landed this wonderful job with a great company. Thank you God. Thank you for the people that shared their story in this website – it was a great, inspiring, and continued support for me whenever I lost my belief. It was great to find people with similar stories like mine and later got over it and landed on a better job and life.
