Make it believable to you
I have never been fat, but I have always had those extra pounds you just don’t want to have, and I am pear-shaped, so guess where all the fat is…
I read The Secret about a month ago, and immediately I figured I could use this new knowledge to lose weight. I got on the scale and decided I wanted to lose 30 pounds in 30 days. So I cut out all these pictures of thin models and some of them I even put my own head on, I wrote in my calendar each day that I had lost another pound, I went out and bought myself a dress in the size I was going to be, and in general I visualized quite a lot what my new body would be like.
After a week I didn’t feel any different. I went on the scale again and this time I had actually gained 1 pound!! I was in shock. Then I realized it didn’t work because my goal wasn’t realistic – not to me. I didn’t really believe I could lose all that weight in such a short time, so I changed it. I found two old pairs of pants I haven’t been able to use for at least 3 years because they were too small, and I made it a goal that I was going to wear one of them the next time I would see my best friend (she lives in another city). I didn’t know when that was going to be, only that it would happen.
I met with my friend three days ago, and I did in fact wear a pair of the pants. This time it worked because it was believable to me!
Thank you Rhonda for sharing The Secret!!
