I cannot emphasize enough the amount of gratitude that has been building up inside of me for the last months. Every single day I wake up and go to bed with positive thoughts and dreams!

Ever since I was a little girl I have always been sort of a “leader”. People look up to me due to my success and because overall I have always been a very positive and determined young lady. However, like any other human being I do have my flaws. I used to be quite negative and mad if I did not receive what I desired, especially if I had worked so hard. Little did I know that I was only making that certain issue BIGGER! Luckily after reading The Secret it was as if as soon as I closed my eyes and re-opened them this wonderful world was smiling at me, opening its arm to welcome me in! My life is so wonderful, there are no words for it, however today I would like to narrate one of the most wonderful days – 4/04/11.

Months prior to this date I was determined that in my high school years I would have the best time ever in my poms High school team (I love to dance). You have no idea how many times my neighbor had told me, “Oh my gosh, you think you’re gonna make it!? HAHA it’s so hard to get in I really doubt you’re ever going to.” Thank god that I did not listen to her. Deep down I knew that she wanted to get in as much as I did; the difference is I took the chance and she didn’t. I used the creative process and wrote down: “I am in the Poms team, my life will be filled with happiness and joy.”

The day had arrived. Before trying out we had to go through a week long clinic, in which all the dancers taught us the routine and worked on technique. Honestly I cannot explain why, but I already felt as if I was in that team. When people asked me, “What are you doing for sports next year?” Without any doubt whatsoever I would respond, “Oh, I’m doing poms.” I talked, thought, and acted as if I was already a member. All of a sudden my life just took a turn even for the better! People I had never talked to started talking to me, and considering that I am a very out-going person this was very shocking.

The day of tryouts arrived. I was very relaxed and happy, nothing disturbed my peace of mind. When it was time to show the coaches the routine and everything else… THEY WERE BLOWN AWAY!!! More than I was, I had never performed with such passion and happiness.

The next day I looked at the sheet of paper to see who had made the team AND MY NAME WAS THERE!! Tears showered my face, and gratitude filled my heart. That entire time I had so many people telling me that I would definitely make it but it wasn’t until I BELIEVED the true magic really began.

I had such awesome energy throughout that day that one of the most unthinkable things occurred. Since the beginning of the year I was determined that I was going to get 100% in my essay. However my Language Arts teacher is SUCH A HARD GRADER, to such a point that in her 16 years of teaching, she has only given out six 100% essays. Make that seven now, BECAUSE I GOT ONE TOO!! All of that in one day!!
