First of all, thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who submits stories, especially to do with weight loss. I have read them all and they completely inspired me and helped me keep the faith when results were nowhere to be found!

My story is pretty simple. I have been overweight for a few years. At first I didn’t really notice the weight gain but over time it was apparent that I couldn’t fit in any of my clothes. I was pretty sad about the whole thing and tried to diet and exercise my way back down. Nothing worked. I did shakes, raw foods, green smoothies, soups, running, dancing… The list goes on.

About 6 month ago my dad made a comment about my weight which devastated me. He had always been my biggest defender and here he was saying I was fat, which I already knew.

Once I stopped being upset, I remembered The Secret and that I was getting back what I was putting out. I decided to stop being sad and start using the teachings. I imagined myself slim. Every day I looked at pictures from the Internet and dreamed about my perfect body. I thought I had a handle on this. Nothing changed. I was dismayed. I tried again, this time using music to imagine myself at my perfect weight. Again a few weeks later nothing changed. In fact I was now 85kg and could barely fit into my size 14 jeans. I had never been that big in my life.

I decided to go back to basics. I wrote down lists of things I was grateful for. I picked a few favourite pictures from my online folders and looked at them daily. I visualised doing things in my perfect body. In real time as if I had that body now. I cleaned out my closet and threw out all my ugly big clothes and purchased new pretty things in smaller sizes.

I started to lose weight. Like automatically. I was relaxed and knew I could get there.

About a week and a half ago I set myself a goal. I had been losing weight slowly and wanted to see The Secret in action. I wanted to wear my size 10 jeans to my dad’s birthday, a week and a half away. At this poor I could barely pull them over my knees. But I imagined anyway. Every day I imagined being at the birthday party wearing these jeans. A few days passed and I decided to try them on. To my amazement I could pull them up. I couldn’t zip them at this point so I put them to the side till the day. I kept visualising but this time I focused on the feeling of zipping them up..

The day before his birthday I tried them on. This time they did zip up!! I haven’t been able to fit this size in 4 years and a week and a half ago I couldn’t get them over my legs! I am so grateful!!

If you have trouble visualising like I did, maybe start a little smaller. Start with something you can reasonably believe. I couldn’t believe fitting the size I wanted straight away so I got started with something easier. Now I have the confidence to keep going and imagine the size I truly desire! It’s so exciting.
