Our house was being renovated and we had to pack all our furniture and articles and move them into a storeroom.
The moving was chaotic as we had a deadline to meet and everything was thrown together haphazardly as we rushed to empty rooms. In the process, my gold earrings among other jewelry were also moved.

As we hurried to get things done, my mother moved some things in the storeroom. There were lots of us working to move things in and out of the house, including the storage and we didn’t pay much attention to the stored items.

After all the work was complete and we were cleaning up and discarding things, I spotted one gold earring lying on the living room floor among all the junk.

We were astonished to see it there and began looking for the other jewelry. It turned out that Mom forgot to put all the earrings together in the box and they were just lying in a pouch in the storeroom. She didn’t remember where she had put them and all the things had been moved and were in disarray.

It was very upsetting as all the gold earrings were in there and we couldn’t find them. I just had the one earring we found on the floor. Everything else, including its pair, was missing.

We searched frantically and didn’t find anything. Everything was such a mess that searching was in itself a massive task.
I was really upset and didn’t know what to do. We weren’t sure if the jewelry was just misplaced or if someone had taken it during the work. They could also have been thrown out during the cleaning. What a mess.

After getting upset and throwing a tantrum, I realized that my negative energy and thoughts were only going to make things worse and ruin all chances of finding the gold. I had to change my thoughts and feelings, so I looked up stories of people finding lost items in The Secret stories and came across many that were very inspiring! And so with renewed faith, I started feeling as if I had already found the earrings and would imagine holding them in my palm and touching them on my earlobes. I was still upset but began to work on replacing every negative thought about the gold with gratitude for finding them and the feelings of having them with me. I kept this up and trusted, constantly facing negative thoughts coming up but sticking to gratitude.

About a week later as my mom was rearranging things in the storeroom, she found the missing pair of the one earring that we found lying on the floor. We were happy but all the others were still missing. I kept on changing my feelings and giving thanks for finding all the earrings.

A month and a half later, my Mom found all the others wrapped in a cloth, stuffed among random clothes and things. She had put them there and forgotten about it in haste.

I was as happy as, or a little more than, I had been when I was imagining finding them. It was such a relief.
