IndiaA non religious, trying to be spiritual, skeptic. Learning about the wonders of this great universe.
I’ve been a skeptic all my life, but as I write this, I am sleepless with wonder and the excitement of limitless possibilities that can open up if you just truly believe. Even though I read The Secret and applied it earlier, whatever little things that happened were too insignificant according to me, to be attributed to the law of attraction. But what happened just now, made me realize that yes, it really works, anything can happen!
My husband reached London on a three week work trip yesterday and about four hours after he checked into his hotel, he realized that he left his laptop bag in the cab. It had his laptop and a brand new camera, but by some stroke of fate, he had a feeling that made him take out his passport pouch and keep it in his pocket. Alone and stressed out in a different country, he was feeling almost hopeless, sad and lonely, but all I kept telling him is not to worry, be calm and just try really hard to imagine the bag already with you.
He started with his investigation, talking to the hotel security, the police, going back and forth to the airport and the hotel to look for any clues. In the meantime I started imagining us in Europe two weeks from now where I have planned to join him for a vacation, with that bag with us. I truly imagined every single detail I could, the smooth red lining, the different pockets and their contents, the weight of the bag, even the place we will go and the cold weather and snow around. I even imagined us laughing at what had happened and how we freaked out. I felt thankful in my heart, for having the bag with us, and also for having a good and happy life.
He, being a bigger skeptic than me, felt more at peace by taking the “logical” route of proactively searching and enquiring and I knew that feeling calm and hopeful was important for us to get any positive result. I left the “logical” part to him and the “abstract” part to me. I just told myself that all this visualization is just filling the gap of time, in a larger reality, the bag is already there with us and there’s no need to worry. Whatever tiny bits of doubt that came to my mind were immediately pushed away. At the end of the day, I just released it into the universe and went on with my routine.
Just a few minutes back, my husband received a call from the hotel. The cab driver returned the bag to the hotel, with all its contents intact, all within 24 hours! I just hope my husband can now find the cab driver and thank him personally.
They say that truth is stranger than fiction, and so, what seems impossible can happen. Why not?
