Living My Best Life!

The NetherlandsI am a very happy wife, mother and author.
First of all, I would really like to thank Rhonda Byrne for making The Secret known to all of us. This knowledge has really made a big difference in my life. Also, a big thank you to all of you who have written your stories here. I read them every day, and they have helped me a lot. Last but certainly not least, a very big thank you to my husband for his love and belief in me, and to our son for his everlasting love.
Two years ago, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. At first, my husband, son, and I were more than devastated, but after a good cry, we decided to go for a full recovery with the help of the hospital, doctors, and nurses. And I made a full recovery. I wrote my story about this experience right after my recovery on this platform, and it was published.
During that same year, while still recovering from my surgery, right after our summer holiday, we learned that my husband would lose his job later that year. We had full confidence that this experience would result in a better opportunity, and it did. Right after his last day at his old job, he was able to start his new job.
At the end of that same year, I learned that my contract at work would not be renewed. In the past, I would have been devastated because my work gave me a feeling of belonging and structure. But because of my experience with my illness, and thanks to the nice sum we received from my husband’s previous job, I was able to let all those negative feelings go and accept the fact that I would not have a job for a couple of months. My husband encouraged me to continue writing a book that I had started years before.
I can now say that I have written my book, found a publisher, and received my newly published book in the mail at the end of last week. It is a thriller called ‘De Brief’. That is the book’s name in Dutch. Translated into English, it is called ‘The Letter’.
This experience has made me an even bigger believer in the law of attraction. In every so called negative situation, there is always something positive. Maybe not to be seen right away but looking back at my own experience, I can surely say that my illness has made me look at things differently. The loss of my husband’s job gave us the finances for me to follow my dream, and the loss of my own job gave me the time to write my book.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
