Mine is not a short story but if you are at the point where you just can not seem to see a way out of your current situation then maybe my story might just give you some hope.
In 2005 my husband and I had lost our business and our home and we went from living in a newly built luxurious home to living in a 3 bedroom rental that had mold issues. On top of that, we still had a hangover debt of $160,000 after selling our business. We had 2 young children, my husband had no job, and I only worked casually.
Then I watched The Secret. My life changed forever.
Fast forward 16 years and I could not be more grateful to you Rhonda! You opened my eyes to all that we brought into our lives. It was not easy convincing my negative husband who blamed everyone else for where we were. But now he is the biggest believer in the law of attraction.
I went from a casual job to part time, to currently working full time in a rewarding job that I love. We paid off our business debt in the most unexpected ways. For the past 11 years we have been living in a small but beautiful home and always have had more than enough money for whatever we needed.
Having said all this, the journey was not always easy for my husband because at first, it was only me that was following the law of attraction. But slowly over time, my husband started to see how his thoughts and actions brought everything to him. He went from job to job where the owners of the businesses he worked for would promise him the world to ensure he worked hard but then would betray him. He would constantly talk about his bosses and how he was betrayed by them, only to move to another job where again he was betrayed. He started to drink heavily every night and was depressed. He would constantly say that “This job is going to kill me” and one day, it nearly did.
Two years ago he survived a major health incident at work that involved emergency surgery which took 7 hours. He spent 5 days in the ICU and it took many months for his recovery. He has had to retire as a result and it has been a tough journey but he is absolutely loving life now.
He spends most days tinkering in the garage, cooking and listening to either The Secret, The Power or The Greatest Secret. He does this every single day.
I have so many stories to tell but for now, I just want to say that I am so grateful for the journey I have traveled because today, life is wonderful.
