The Secret was introduced to me by my best friend in 2009. She had been using it for a while and thought I could do with reading and seeing it. She actually lent me her CD and book, just as a real best friend would. I was so clueless in my life then, that this was a hope I hung on to. After having it for a month I decided I wanted my own copy, a proper one, a hard copy that I could make notes in. I read a page of the book each night, sometimes more. I made sure I watched the CD even if for a few minutes just before calling it a day. I have always maintained a journal since my teenage years, and I would write my thoughts quickly in my journal just reiterating the thoughts I had after reading or seeing it each night. This was almost as if I was replaying it my head before falling off to sleep.

My copy of The Secret book has bits highlighted throughout, a few short comments to engrave what I take away from a particular paragraph that is super inspiring, etc. My copy, basically, is like a ball of positive energy that sits on my bedside table and comes out each time I seek to renew my positivity.

Since then, each time I have had major projects that I need to accomplish, like a new job, a relocation to go smoothly, a happy relationship with my hubby, an improved relationship with a particular family member, my baby, our own lovely house, promotions and opportunities at work, a new car, good friends around me, I think of The Secret. I start off by saying my thank yous. I visualize how it would be having received what I am asking for. I remember when I was pregnant I would visualize a happy healthy baby. I would visualize, little balloons with BOY or GIRL written on it in the sky. I would visualize holding and rocking it in my arms. I had even called it ‘my secret baby’ and now my little girl is nearly 3 and she is my secret child, smiling, happy, bright and beautiful.

I always asked and continue to ask for a ‘secret sign’, any time I was in doubt. I would ask the Universe to give me a sign. Like show me a lady in a purple coat if you want me to make a particular choice. I remember one morning I had two job offers, both very similar and very good. It was such a close call and I was genuinely confused as either way they could have been career changers. I asked the Universe to show me a sign to help make my decision. And I got the sign. Just as I had asked for, I saw a lady in a very unusual colored jacket walk past my window. That gave me a sign of job was best for me. That job was one of my best jobs which catapulted my career to new heights. The Secret signs always work- always.

Also I use the trick for ‘Secret shifters’ a lot. Each time I thought I was beginning to think negatively, I would literally say ‘Back up, back up, back up, back up’ in my head. In my car, I sometimes would yell it out loud when I was alone. I restart my thought with visualizing a bold banner in front of my eyes that said exactly what I wanted. For example, ‘I am getting my new dream job’. I would often sign off in my journal after ‘asking’ for what I wanted, with “Let The Secret do its magic”. And it always did show me its magic.

My life has considerably changed in the last 7 years. I have ticked off so many things on my wishlist, year after year. I have been using The Secret for more than 7 years now and I continue to be amazed at how I get what I want when I just ask the Universe for it. This has instilled an unrivaled faith in me that The Secret will do its magic each time.
