My story starts 2 years ago when my sister introduced me to this book. I have always had faith that good things happen to good people so when my sister gave me the book to read I believed right away. I decided to ask the Universe for money to do all the things I every wanted to do. I printed my cheque from the bank of the universe and asked for one million euro!!!! I know that sounds like a lot but it’s as easy to get one euro as it is to get one million. I placed the cheque in my kitchen and everyday I said to myself “I must lodge my cheque today”.

My life is very happy. I have a lovely house and a great boyfriend, along with amazing family and friends so already the Universe has been good to me but I still longed for more in my working life. I had always wanted to be in the theatre and have my own stage school but I didn’t have the money or the experience to do it.

After a year of looking for my million and still no sign I really had started to give up hope. My partner said to me “Aoife, you don’t need a million, just ask for what you would change in YOUR life”. I thought about this and realised €20,000 would change my life. I could pay my bills and have a nest egg too. I changed the amount on my cheque!

I made this decision in Dec 09 and in Feb 10 I got news from my job that I was to be made redundant. Because I am only with the company a short time I did not hold out for any big lump sum, but to my surprise guess what I’m getting? Yep, a little over €20,000. This has allowed me to take a course and retrain in the theatre. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! My dreams are coming through……

Although my story has not been plain sailing I am still getting to do what I always wanted. I would never have had the courage to go back and do it without taking the knock of loosing my job. I would never have asked for less if I hadn’t looked at why I wanted the money in the first place.

And you never know…….someday my new career direction might just make me my million!!!!!
