Joya The Dog That Brought Joy

Hey guys! 🙂
A short story to express my gratitude and motivate all of you!
I had wanted a dog for almost 3 years now. My mother had always been severely scared of animals and would not even think of getting me a pet when I was younger, so I had given up on the idea.
But then years later I kept seeing images of young girls, celebrities etc. on Instagram with their puppies and they all looked so happy.
After starting a conversation at work with an amazing woman, who had written a dog-guide for Vienna, I decided to give it another real try this time.
I imagined my puppy at home. Occasionally I was looking back on the floor, as if she was already there and imagined us playing and stuff. I was in a state of wanting her, but not obsessing over her. As I was still living with my parents, I knew I would have to convince my mother.
She was laughing it off, my friends were too, but I was determined. So I made jokes about getting a puppy for my birthday all the time. Until the joke became a possible reality.
In January I was feeling sad because of a guy and told my mother (unintentionally) that I wanted a pet, because it would love me and I would love her unconditionally. No games, no drama, no disappointments.
And she agreed. I was in shock!
What no one was expecting, is how quick I got my puppy.
As soon as I said “I want my dog”, everything fell into place.
I talked to a friend during lunch, she told me about another friend’s dog and where she had gotten her from. I looked up the homepage and here comes the best part. On the exact day that I had said out loud that I really want a puppy, my baby girl had been born!
It was destiny. She was the breed, the color, the size, the gender, everything I had wanted.
After 2 months of her living with us I can truly say, I made this happen! She is the most adorable, loving, well-behaved dog and made our lives better!
Thank you guys and Rhonda!!
Lots of love!
