It’s Even With The Small Things.

Huddersfield, UKIn my late 20’s, an Educational Teaching Assistant and an Audrey Hepburn fan. New to The Secret.
I’ve started reading The Secret and have started implementing the principles of it into my life. I’ve not yet finished the book but I’m loving my journey with it so far.
Today, I thought I would put what I have been reading to the test. I have been looking after my friend’s cat while she is away and decided to go to the shop to get some wine while I was out.
Now the shop in my village has a small car park near it, however, it can be hard to find a space. So hard that I will usually walk there to save myself the trouble. Not only that but parking on my street where I live is a pain. I avoid going places in my car as much as possible so I don’t lose my parking space.
Now, these things may sound trivial to most, however, I have a chronic disease and am currently having a huge flare-up. That means I am unable to walk far, or for a long period of time. So to me, these parking spaces are extremely valuable.
Knowing and understanding what The Secret has been teaching me, I decided that I would actively put what I had learned to the test.
On my way to the shop I spoke out loud, visualized, felt, and imagined the parking spot I would have when I got to the car park. I expressed a sense of gratitude during this visualization and felt the feeling of having a specific parking space. I even joked with myself saying “How funny I’d find it if the car park was pretty much empty now.”
Well, guess what I saw as soon as I pulled into the car park?
That’s right, there were numerous empty spaces. I think there was a grand total of 3 cars in the car park! Amazing!
But it doesn’t stop there, oh no! I did the exact same thing on my way back to mine. I vocalized, visualized, felt, and imagined that as soon as I came around the corner to the stretch my house is on, the same parking space that I had left from, would still be available for me.
Sure enough, there it was. With extra room for more than my car! Brilliant!
Oh, and it still doesn’t stop there. I picked my wine from the shelf in the shop. I had chosen one of our favorite wines that we buy when we want to treat ourselves because it’s more expensive than the cheaper wine we usually get. However, the cheaper one was not there so I just picked up the more expensive one. When I got to the cashier to pay for it, the lovely lady rang it through. The wine was cheaper than our ‘cheap’ wine! Fantastic!
I know these are small things in comparison to the many big things people write about. But to me, I do believe it’s because of The Secret and my decision to put it to the test. I am extremely grateful. The parking spaces and cheaper wine were a blessing!
It works! Even with the “small” things.
