It’s Always A Surprise.
I first found this book during a very specific yet rare visit to the library at my college. I was looking for poetry books as I had to participate in an inter-college poetry competition. I was not so much into poetry but I had rhymed a few and so I was selected. Wandering in the isles unable to put a finger on anything specific, I went to the general section and saw The Secret in the hardcover. I felt like I was holding some expensive treasure-filled box. The hardcover version has such a luscious feel and pages to them. I flew through the contents and the headings of the chapters and went straight to get it issued. And that’s when life started to make sense.
It didn’t work out for me in the beginning. I read the book but I did not win that competition nor did I get the college I wanted after graduation. I knew what The Secret was asking me to do but I didn’t understand how to customize it to my desired thoughts and lifestyle. I knew I had to change things up so I got my mind to work.
Gradually, I realized that my thoughts were scattered everywhere. I tried to narrow them down and add clarity to them. I reframed my words and thoughts about the things I wanted. Words like, “I want to see my name on the Dean’s merit list” and “I want to explore a new country”. So, things changed in graduate school.
I wanted to see my name on the bulletin. It didn’t matter if I came 1st or 2nd but I had to have my name on the board. It would be so empowering to see it there. I felt joyous when I imagined it. And on the other hand, I wanted to take off some of the burden of the tuition fee from my dad’s mind. I wanted to contribute as much as possible but I didn’t know how I could do that while studying. College occupied me with classes and presentations and I forgot about these wishes as the days passed by.
However, I would always smile looking at the Dean’s list posted on the board.
When the first term exam results were announced I was surprised beyond belief. I stood first in my class and to top it off, I was able to make money by studying and received a scholarship of 50,000 INR! To make things even more magical, I was able to receive 3 scholarships over a period of 2 years, something I had never imagined in my wildest dreams! I also manifested the best job placement in my college. It took me to Dubai and gave me the chance to explore the world and brought authority, luxury and the independence that I wanted.
Thank you for bringing the law of attraction in my life. I used to think I had no control over my life and my kismat (fate) was pathetic but after reading this book I was able to hold the steering wheel for my Lamborghini life. I wish to drive it soon! There have been many more things I manifested through The Secret that I would love to share in other stories. For now, I just have one thing to say, live life kingsize!!
