I have known about The Secret for a while now and often listen to the audio CDs I bought. I could never really make it work for me until I became passionate about what I really wanted.

I am an exchange student, living in Germany for one year. With my program we do not get to choose what host family we go to. My first host family was not right for me. I was absolutely miserable, crying every day and hiding out in my room. My host parents didn’t talk to me and I had two little host sisters who drove me insane.

I couldn’t do it anymore, and asked to change my family. I knew that the family would completely make or break my year. I realized how important it was to get the right family for me. I listened to The Secret every day and prayed. I wrote down in great detail what I wanted my new host family to be like, the host siblings I wanted, and how I wanted them to be.

I focused on this with so much passion because I knew this would change everything for me. I re-read what I wrote every day, and I began to become happy because I had absolutely no doubt that I was going to get a perfect new host family. I imagined myself being with them, and whenever a negative doubtful thought came to me, I immediately changed it. I talked to my parents back home like I already had the perfect host family, and although they thought I was a bit crazy because in reality I didn’t have it yet, I knew it was mine.

My local co-ordinator and I searched for host families and there was one family that when I visited, I felt at home. I didn’t know much about them really but I followed my heart. After a few days, I could not believe it. I re-read over what I wrote and everything I wrote down was now my reality. I was in shock that I had actually attracted it to me. It didn’t take too long either, and I realize this was my problem before, there was not enough passion behind it.

I’m looking forward to bringing more things I want to me. I was always one of those people that said: ah others can attract things to them, but I won’t be able to… not me. But really anyone can!!

I’m excited about the future and the rest of this year will be amazing. I’m so so grateful and will never stop giving thanks.
