It is simply amazing how the power of positive thinking and loads of gratitude can change one’s life drastically!
My gift is art. It always has been. Since I was about the age of 4 I always had some “studio” set up with a drawing table. I went to university and traveled overseas for art. BUT over the past 5 years I pretty much gave up on the idea of being an “artist” or working anywhere in the art profession. I held jobs as a bartender, working in a coffee bar, loading shipping trucks, and finally to my last job as a banker. All of which were as far away from my art as it possibly could be.
I always wanted to own a coffee shop. This is something that has stuck with me for about 7 years now. I had the name chosen, the logo designed, and a list of drink recipes as big as the world is wide.
About 3 months ago, I was having a rough day at work. Like other jobs I’ve had in the past being a banker was boring and not satisfying. Sure I made decent money, I absolutely loved my clients, and I learned so much from it! But the job itself was not me. I really was grateful for my job… so I thought.
Now, I had heard of The Secret since the book was released. I was working in a bookstore at the time, and I actually picked it up and read it. I loved the idea of The Law of Attraction and tried years ago to apply it to my life.
Anyways…
3 months ago at work I had some quiet time and decided to revisit The Secret on my Kindle. But instead of downloading the book I found The Magic instead. I read the book in one day and followed the book for 28 days because I needed CHANGE!
While reading the book I began illustrating again. And the drawings poured out like water. It was SO easy! Also I began to revisit the idea of my coffee shop by writing a business plan. The business plan didn’t come so easy. While trying to figure out the financial side of things I thought to myself- “What can I do to make money to open my coffee shop?” And there were my drawings staring me in the face. I put aside the coffee shop plans and began working on my drawings more seriously.
And like a light bulb- “HEY! These would make great home decor and stationery!!” Long story short, my business was born.
Now, I was spending long nights and barely getting 3 hours of sleep trying to start my business. My job at the bank was going less than well. It wasn’t that I was dreading work, things were just rough. Business at my job was not well, my boss was a wreck, and my immediate supervisor was less than pleasant. My home life was suffering, because of my husband’s and my work schedules, and my child was not well. I wanted nothing more than to be home.
And that is EXACTLY what I received. I was forced out of my job.
I couldn’t have been happier and the timing couldn’t have been more PERFECT!
The time I was spending at my job was invested in my family, home and business and all DRASTICALLY improved! My business’ grand opening was a HUGE Success! And it continues to grow bigger everyday!
I owe this all to The Magic and The Secret!
The Lazy Bee Paper House would not be what it is without The Law of Attraction. It’s working, whether you realize it or not.
