It Comes To Us All.
Submitted by: Douglas
ScotlandAt almost 60, I’ve had a full and varied life. Yet I still dream of bigger and better things. Just to see how far I can go in this life.
I’m writing this on the day I have to fly to Scotland from London to attend the funeral of my sister.
I just downloaded The Secret Super App. I rarely share my personal feelings but The Secret Super App encouraged me, so I decided to write how I felt.
I have had four older sisters and one younger brother in my life, and I feel so blessed. Family is one of the most important things in our lives and too often we forget that.
I had not seen my sister all year as a result of the Covid situation, and she passed suddenly and unexpectedly.
One thing that came to me shortly after, was that it comes to us all. There is no escaping it. Death. We have to be strong and accept our final destiny. Why we are always surprised and shocked is not easy to explain when we know it is part of life.
I celebrated the great times immediately. I thought about simple things. Like stopping in to see her at her hairdressing shop and how excited she got telling her clients I was her younger brother. It brought a sense of pride and I smiled.
Nothing else in life brings that joy, pride and tears. It’s a beautiful time as well as an emotional time.
My focus now is to be even better than my original dreams. Even tougher on myself to achieve as much success, share more love and be more thankful for however much longer I have on this planet.
Onward and upward and thank you my dear sister for being amazing and showing me unconditional love.
