I first learned about THE SECRET from my sister, who saw it on Oprah. She was very excited about this book. She explained it to me and told me what it was about. She wanted us to buy the book. I looked at her and thought, “Are you crazy, where are we going to get money to buy a book? And secondly, since when did we become book readers?”

Then as time passes a lot of other people were telling me about The Secret. I went back to my sister and told her that we should defiantly get the book. She asked, “How?” I said to her, “We should use The Secret (law of attraction) to get The Secret (the book).” The same day a friend of mine told me that The Secret was available from the university library. I borrowed it, read it, and then passed it to my sister. Since then I have been using THE SECRET in my everyday life, and am very thankful for it!!!

Before I read THE SECRET I always prayed before I went to sleep using negative words, and I’d be surprised and be angry with God for giving me exactly the things I have been praying not to happen. For example, every day before I went to sleep I would pray to God and ask him to look after my family and not let anyone die in my family. A few moths after I started this my sister died. She never got sick, but she suddenly died from complications caused by miscarriage.

I did not understand why God did exactly what I begged him every night not do. But now after reading The Secret I understand very clearly why that happened – it is because all I was focusing on was death.

Now that I have discovered The Secret I think positively and I try to control my thoughts, and when I pray I don’t ask God not to do what I do not want, but rather I ask for what I want him to do for me.

I believe and visualize the beautiful things I want every day, and that makes me feel really nice and happy. I do this on a day-to-day basis. Almost everything I want I get it immediately. Sometimes it gets hard and I lose faith, but all I have to do is read a few pages from The Secret stories shared by other people, and I feel empowered again.

Now I understand that the law of attraction is always working, my job is to make sure I use it to my advantage by controlling my thoughts. Thank to Rhonda and The Secret now I am doing well academically, socially, and spiritually.
