When I watched The Secret on my computer, I immediately bought it & tried to share it with all my friends and family. I realized when I saw it what I always said about myself was indeed coming true. I said I was good at business, lousy at love. I’d had my heart broken really badly 2 years before, and I always said I didn’t date, I didn’t want love. I was closed off to love. I had thought that I was a positive person, and magical, and I am! But not with love!

I was a good mom, started my own business from home, and had bought my first house, which was quite a feat. I’d also lost 40 lbs. on the ‘divorce diet’. After my ex left me in a terribly shattering break up, after 10 1/2 years together, he left me for another woman.. I wasn’t given any child support for the first year, plus he and his new love moved across the street from me… where I could see them daily, in love, ignoring his son & our financial needs. It was so hard, but I turned it around into self love. I manifested into a healthy, successful woman and mom, but I was alone! It was The Secret that gave me the idea to invite love into my life.

I changed my mantra from ‘I have bad luck at love’ to ‘I’m a love magnet’. Saying yes to a blind date set up from friends didn’t produce Mr. Right at first, but being open minded helped me accept an invite out on March 17, 2007. My friend’s band was playing at 10 pm at a bar, so I went downtown, by myself, and had one beer at a local pub. I was on my way to the show, but Eric sat down next to me. And we met and we talked. I reminded myself I was being open to love. At first I was trying to ignore him completely, but I accepted the universe’s offering and he’s been my boyfriend for one year yesterday. He’s exactly what I wanted! I wanted a scruffy blue collar guy with a dirty work truck and a dog. Exactly Eric. lol It’s funny, on that first night meeting him I never made it to my friend’s show, but she forgave me. lol Anyway, he said he’d been thinking ‘relationship’. I made him watch The Secret DVD on one of our first dates & he totally gets it. We’re focusing on love, travel, beauty, and having a wonderful time. Next is focus on creating a new business that’s fun, like a coffeehouse, and more travel and helping others. Thanks.
