You Have To Give First

Los Angeles, CAI am grateful.
I was referred to The Secret by a family member after I suffered anxiety attacks. It was a horrible experience. Fortunately, the attacks have stopped and I am managing my anxiety. In the past year there has been an overwhelming amount of stress in my life. Some of it involved financial hardship, but my mother’s health was the most devastating. But that it just a little background about myself, now to continue with my story…
I began to use The Secret in my job search. I interviewed for a job that I was certain I would get because the interviewers liked my personality and background. But there was one drawback. My previous employment was not a good experience. Although I liked my job, the company was not very helpful when I got injured. More than anything, the office politics interfered. But I have learned and have moved on. So, when I quit my job I decided to put that behind me and start over. Well, because things did not end amicably, I wasn’t getting any recommendations.
Needless to say that I did not get the job that I wanted. I was disappointed because I had done everything possible that I had learned from The Secret including writing a check to myself from the agency, creating a business card with my name on it, and I would even drive to the office every day as if I worked there already. However, I knew that the decision was based on the way I handled the situation. I had to be honest with potential employers. I went on several job interviews since then, but they didn’t interest me. I still had faith that I would be presented with a second opportunity — and guess what? This week I received a second inquiry for the position – 3 months later. I have been given a second opportunity and I am not going to blow it this time.
By the way, ever since The Secret, I have found it easy to find parking spots even in the most crowded places. I’ve learned to think positively. Being grateful has attracted good things in my life. The day I started training for a volunteer position at a nonprofit organization to help children who have been abused, was the same day that I received the second opportunity to interview for this job that I really want and hope that I get.
Wish me luck!
