I Knew It Was Mine!
I have always been responsible with my finances. My parents instilled good financial habits in me, however at this point in my life, I was starting to get bogged down with credit card debt. My truck had been constantly breaking down, I eventually had to get a different car and had all sorts random pop-up expenses. To top it all off, Christmas was just around the corner and I really didn’t have the money to buy gifts.
One day, my company of 5000 plus employees, announced a new initiative to improve morale. They would have four random drawings for employees who had been with the company for 0-1 year, 2, 3 and 4 years. Each winner would win either 1, 2, 3 or 4 thousand dollars.
Using the concepts my sister had taught me about the Law of Attraction, I told myself, “That money is mine. I am going to win that drawing.” The company announced the dates of the drawing and said they would be notifying people via email. I continued to hold this thought in my head. On the day of the drawing, I was at my customer’s site and had not yet been able to check my company’s email. Late that night at home, I decided to check. I was greeted with a massive email thread, starting with the company chief of HR and trickling all the way down to me, with a congratulatory note from all.
I had just won $4,000!
I called my sister, who was a little confused by the late hour of the call, and said, ‘Guess what?! I just won the lottery!” Even more amazing, is the fact that I had only been with the company for 2.5 years, however I won the prize for those that had been with the company for 4 or more years. I contacted them to explain the mix-up, however I was told that they were counting my years from college as an intern. So indeed I had been with the company for 4 years.
The winnings from this drawing were a huge help to me financially, and I will never forget that feeling I had when I told myself that the money was mine, and I saw the emails saying I had won. Thank you!
