I first heard of The Secret in 2007.

I realized after reading the book I had been living with the LOA for my whole life. If you ask my friends and relatives to use one word to describe me they would say “Lucky”. I’m constantly manifesting things, winning contests, even when bad things happen to me, something even better and greater happens. I guess I could say I naturally attracted a nice, easy life.

I’m married to a wonderful woman, we’ve been together for 4 years. While we were celebrated our 1st year anniversary we got run over by a car while we were crossing the street. I had to have surgery and I recovered. My wife on the other hand, was left permanently handicapped. After multiple surgeries, physical rehabilitation, doctor visits, etc. we amassed huge debt. She also suffers from a chronic illness that prevented her from working for almost 6 months. We fell further into debt and I had to start working as I was a stay at home mom at the time this happened. Fast forward a year and a half and I decided I had enough.

I told myself living paycheck to paycheck while buried in over $20,000 worth of debt was no way to live at all. Things had to change, and soon.

About one month ago, I received one of the perfectly timed featured stories from The Secret in my email. I read it, and it reminded me of the checks! I got so excited! I thought “Yes! This is what I need!” So I printed one check, and I made it out to me and my wife, for $30,000. I figured I could pay off our debt and get a little extra to enjoy. I dated the check for March 31st, 2015.

The days went by and I kept that check on my nightstand, whenever I felt stressed and overwhelmed about our debt, I reminded myself that help was coming, and The Universe was going to take care of it. I also started a Gratitude Journal and a Book of Positive Aspects. I grabbed a notebook and started writing on it almost daily. I also filled out a deposit slip from my bank, with my account number and the $30,000 to be deposited on March 31st, 2015.

Today is March 31st, 2015. I woke up and went to work as usual. I received a phone call from my wife at work, and she had some good news to tell me:

We are receiving a check for a little over $60,000!

The whole irony about this is; since I didn’t specify I wanted $30,000 for BOTH of us, The Universe gave $30,000 to EACH of us!

The only “Secret” to my success was to let go.

I didn’t stress over how it’s going to happen, I didn’t worry about when. When the “due date” for my check came, I didn’t react negatively because I still hadn’t received anything. I went on with my day as normal, and I trusted that it was all going to work out perfectly.
