I Attract Wonderful Customers
The universe gave me the first job I wanted at a sales/retail store with a particular company. It’s a job that many of my friends my age and older who work in fast food, grocery, and yard work, tell me they wish they had.
However, I only worked a few hours a week and struggled with meeting expectations for sales at work when I did work. I kept telling myself, “Making sales is hard and none of my customers are interested in the types of sales I need.”
I finally reconnected with The Secret after 4 miserable years and said to my mom, “On Friday, I will get at least one type of sale I need and I will somehow get more hours.”
That Friday, a coworker called asking me to fill in for him on Saturday. I accepted and got more hours like I said I would. That same Friday at work, I got one of the types of sales I needed like I said I would.
The next day I worked again filling in for my coworker. I had a wonderful day and all of my customers were very nice and understanding. I actually joked and laughed with a lot of them too. It was a very easygoing day. I also didn’t have to push them into a sale they didn’t want to make. My particular customers just happened to be there for the types of sales that I needed to meet or exceed expectations. At the end of the day, my supervisor said to me that I had exceeded expectations for all types of sales. I was incredibly proud of myself.
I asked her what my schedule would be for next week and she said,”You’re working Thursday.” I looked down at the schedule and saw that I was listed for two days and couldn’t believe it. I asked her if it was a mistake and when she looked again she said,” Oh yeah! You’re working on Friday too!” I have never been scheduled more than one day of the week by my boss before now.
I almost laughed out loud. I had the most satisfied look on my face walking out of work. In what I thought would take at least a month… happened the same week I was working.
Another thing that happened that same week was… the company’s focus shifted from one type of sale that I struggled in making to another type of sale that I have always been good at making. My supervisor let me know about it and said that in all her years with the company, she has never seen the company’s focus shift like that.
I absolutely cannot wait to go to work this week. I’m more confident with my job and to be honest, I have the most wonderful and understanding boss and coworkers who make me laugh and smile all the time. It feels like we are all part of a very close-knit family and pick on each other in a healthy way all the time. When I talk about my coworkers, people can’t believe that a job in sales can be so fun, easygoing and laid-back.
I’m confident that when I go to work again this week, I’ll make more sales more easily to people who actually want them, I will exceed standards on all types of sales again and I will have yet another wonderful day at work. I have everyone that spoke in The Secret to thank for this. Thank you!
