My story actually relates to many areas of life. I got into personal development after the unexpected death of my brother. My life was flipped upside down, and I was definitely headed down the wrong path. I encountered several legal problems, as well as a very unhealthy and abusive relationship that produced 2 beautiful children. I was miserable and felt hopeless, with my self-esteem about as low as it gets. I was aware of the law of attraction before The Secret came out, but wasn’t very good at applying it to my life. The Secret helped me to learn to apply it more effectively.

3 years ago, I packed up and moved to another state, with no money, no job, nowhere to live, nothing but my children and a suitcase of clothes for each, and a suitcase full of books. I had legal problems that haunted me, and that I was trying to run away from. I had an abusive boyfriend, whom I thought I was in love with, regardless of my misery with him.

I started to focus on what I wanted my life to look like, where I wanted to live, how I wanted to live, what kind of car I wanted, what type of income I wanted, etc. When I first moved here, I got a minimum wage job that I was embarrassed of, I lived in a small 2 bedroom apartment, with all my kids in one room, I was still broke, with bad credit. When I started to focus more on the positive in my life and what I wanted, instead of all my failures and mistakes, everything started to fall into place.

I moved to an island outside of the city, where there was lower crime, better schools, nicer neighborhoods and homes. When I first moved here I couldn’t have even fathomed how I would ever afford a home like what I am in. All I knew was that I wanted it! I didn’t think about the “how”. I live in a beautiful home, I’m free of the abusive relationship, I cleared up my legal problems, and now I own my own business and make very good money, and my credit has improved greatly.

This may not sound like a lot to some of you, but I did not go into great detail about my situations, and if you all knew everything, you would understand that I have come a very long way in just 3 years, and it’s all because of the Secret. People who are unaware of the Secret would consider a great deal of my life a “miracle”! Did I forget to mention that I dropped out of school when I was 15 and now make more money than both my parents combined have ever made in a given year? Just so you have an idea, my father is an engineer and mechanical genius, and my mother is a counselor. So as you can see it’s quite a leap to go from $7 an hour to my current income in just 3 years, and yes, I do it legally! Once again it’s because of “The Secret” and actually putting it to work, not just thinking about it!
