I came to Tulsa in March of 2005 for a three week visit. Think Gilligan’s Island. I had 3 reasons to be here:

1) To celebrate my mother’s 87th birthday,

2) To celebrate my parent’s 65th wedding anniversary

3) To assist my sister to finalize everything for her new restaurant prior to opening day.

Shortly after my 3 weeks came to an end, my sister asked if I could stay to help her get it up and running, so I did. That morphed into moving in with my parents to be their in-home caregiver. In short, I never really went back “home” except for a few visits and eventually moved all my belongings here.

Mom passed at 91 in 2009 and then it was just dad and me, my “date” for 10 years. I had been single for 6 years prior to my arrival and caring for them didn’t allow time for a relationship of any kind. Dad passed at 102 in December 2017.

It was time to begin my life which had been put on hold for over 2 decades. I held on to the belief that God would bless me with my perfect mate for honoring my mother and father in their golden years.

I joined a dating site about 8 months after dad passed since I didn’t know many people in Tulsa. Also, those I did know weren’t helpful in introducing me to possible mates. I did not have much success with the first site I joined and almost gave up completely on finding anyone during this final chapter in my life.

In the fall of 2019, I started an exercise regimen walking with my puppy, Bella. As I walked, I began to be grateful for everything in my life and even for my future mate. I described him and all his wonderful qualities as I did so. I would envision us together and felt how awesome being with him would feel. I asked God to keep him protected from all harm, to keep him walking with God, and for him to find me.

At 69, I joined a new dating site in August 2021. By Christmas, I met a man who reached out to me online and who fulfilled all my criteria and more, plus, he is 13 years my junior! By February 2022, we fell madly in love and will soon be married. He is the most amazing man and God led him to find me on the dating site.

I completely believe it is the result of the law of attraction and The Secret that he found me. We are continuing to exercise the law of attraction every day together for the blessings that are to come. One day, I will add to this story regarding all the blessings we have received due to the law of attraction.

It can be challenging to start and continue to change one’s speech, thoughts and feelings from negative to positive but once it becomes part of you, there is no way to stop, at least for me. I can find a bright spot in the worst of situations that may infuriate people around me but that is not my problem. Life is great and I can’t wait to see which blessing comes next. It’s wonderful to be alive. The only wish I have is that I could have learned this 50 years ago. Thank you and God bless everyone!
