Gratitude Check.

North CarolinaWife of a US Marine and mother to two wonderful children. I first watched The Secret 12 years ago.
My family and I are in Paris, France visiting from North Carolina. I started reading The Magic and working through the steps about a week before we left on our trip. I kept up on The Magic practices throughout the flights and the trip.
Today’s practice was Number 17, The Magic Check. When I went to write the check, the amount of $200 kept popping into my head. I asked my husband what amount we should put on this check and he instantly said $200. So I felt that was a sign, and wrote it out for $200.
We went all over Paris today. Our 9-year-old daughter has an old cellphone for pictures and such and the case also holds credit cards. She has her debit card in the phone case loaded with all the birthday, Christmas, and allowance money she has saved for this trip. She bought about $20 worth of goods today at the Galeries Lafayette and was so proud to have her own bag. We then went on to the Eiffel Tower.
My husband had to empty his pockets when we went through security and he threw our AirBnB keys into the shopping bag. It also had our daughter’s phone, the souvenirs we bought at the Eiffel Tower, the items she bought, her pictures with Perre Noel, a key she keeps on a necklace for a jewelry box my father made for her and a BFF key chain a very special friend gave her.
We took two trains back to our AirBnB and at this point, it was 11 pm. We were exhausted and ready to go to bed. My husband looked at me and said, “Where is the bag?” I explained that he had it last and I never took it back.
That’s when we realized we left it on the last train. We talked to customer service and the employee explained to us that no one would ever return a bag like that. She did, however, call around and look in her system just in case.
With my daughter in tears and my husband feeling awful, I just kept looking at them and saying, “Thank you for our bag being found and returned to us!” I kept explaining that there was no need to worry, we would get it back.
As we exit the train station wondering where we will be staying that night since the owner of the AirBnB had not responded to our messages and we were now locked out, I noticed that I had a FaceBook message request.
I check the message and it was from someone saying they have our bag and they included their phone number! I called the number and it was from a small stand where we had bought cocoa and mulled over wine on our way to the train station from the Eiffel Tower!
We immediately got back on the train and went back and got our bag! As we were walking back to the train station to go back to the Airbnb, it hit me! My daughter has $200 in her account! If someone had taken her card we would be out $200! The exact amount of that check that I had filled out! I honestly could not believe that it worked that fast!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you so much!
