Gratitude and Healing
Submitted by: Susan
Minnesota, USAI am a home-schooler and a school teacher. I am interested in starting a business in prudent, honest internet marketing. I have 2 daughters. I look forward to working from home in the near future.
I always used to be a complaining person who judged people and saw the bad side of things. Since The Secret, I have changed my way of thinking. I recite the Optimist’s Creed from this web site daily. I thank God for 10-15 things per day. I have seen a dramatic turn around in the way my life has been. I am happier. I am getting healthier. I feel younger. Several people have mistakenly believed that I was my oldest daughter’s sister when in fact I am 41 and she is 14! The Secret and God have made me realize that you are only as old as you think you are in body, mind, heart, and soul. I also have come to realize how perfect God’s timing is in my life because of gratitude.
I also experienced a healing through gratitude. One day last week, my muscles were very tense and my back and shoulder were hurting because of it. I went to Adoration to pray. I decided that instead of asking God for a lot of things, I would just thank Him. So I thanked Him for everything that I could think of. I thanked Him for my healing several times, not knowing why since I hadn’t experienced a healing yet. I just somehow felt spiritually called to thank Him for it. After 20 minutes of saying thank you while kneeling, I sat back down in the pew.
Immediately, I felt all of the muscles in my body relax like they have never done so before! I almost fell over because they were so relaxed. It felt great! I thanked God again and left very happy.
I think that gratitude is an act of faith. Being grateful for something that you have yet to receive takes strong faith. Thank you Rhonda and thank you God. I’m going to continue to practice gratitude and “Ask. Believe. Receive.” like it says in Mark 11:24.
