I was always someone who looked down on myself. I grew up very poor and was put down by most of the people in my life. I was the oldest of four children so my parents never really had time or energy to show me any positive emotion. I felt unloved and unworthy. I had always thought that my life was supposed to be this way and there was nothing I could do about it. I didn’t realize it then, but I was attracting more misery and losers into my life this way. Thus, I found myself lonely and I longed for the perfect partner to share my life with but a part of me thought that he just did not exist.

Then about 3 years ago, I met a guy. He was the son of some family friends. In my culture of arranged marriages, this is often how you meet your future spouse. I was seeing someone else online at this time but in denial about the toxic relationship. Well anyway, this new guy was really attractive and seemed very kind and had a very nice family as well and they didn’t live too far away. From our short conversation, he seemed to check off everything on my list. For some reason, I just knew, like I knew, like I knew, he was my perfect partner.

However, due to some differences in our family, the relationship could not go any further. I was a little upset at first but then I realized one good thing that came out of meeting him was that I deserved better than the previously mentioned online relationship and I broke it off.

The next year I discovered The Secret after I saw a video online where someone said that this book changed her life. I had nothing to lose so I purchased the audiobook and listened. When I first starting hearing the messages something just clicked and my life started to make sense! I had been attracting depressing circumstances and depressed people into my life because of my depressed thinking. It was a hard pill to swallow but once I did, I was able to make a lot of positive changes.

With the help of The Secret and God, I was able to get the job I wanted and am now able to afford things that I never could. Next on my list was my perfect partner. I made a vision board with the guy’s picture and envisioned living a blissful life with him.

Now guess what! We are engaged to be married and I have never been happier!
