I am an IT/software engineer working in a good company. I have a total of 5 years of work experience. For software engineers who are developers it is very important to know how to design, talk to clients fluently etc. It was my dream to work on such projects where I can get lots to learn and will truly add to my experience.

But for all these 5 years I hardly gained any such experience. Usually I was put on projects which were almost over and hence usually got the defect fixes and maintenance work. I always demanded a good project, a new project where I can see the entire software life cycle and be a part of it.

I asked for release from one project and got into another one where my experience went from bad to worse. I had all fears within me that I had not gained enough knowledge for a 5 year experienced engineer. I was put into manual testing which was a disaster for me.

I kept on thinking why me? I went into depression, started thinking about alternatives to my job, started thinking about doing further studies. Everyday I would fight for a reason that will help me not go to work.

I had read The Secret by then and after reading it I felt a lot of positive energy within me. I started thinking only about the best projects, about the good teammates I want to work with and about all the new things I will learn. I also set my PC passwords accordingly so that every day I type what I want as if it is present . As if I have gotten the project.

Within 2-3 months I was released from the project and the same day I was told that a new project is coming which had tremendous work and opportunities. But the project had severe deadlines which started scaring me, but still I thought I am ready for this. But the project went away .

I still did not lose hope thinking that something better is coming.

One fine day my friend came to know about a project and I contacted the project manager. The requirements were fitting perfectly.

The next day I answered the interview and cleared it!!

It worked for me and it will work you. Just believe that you already have it! 🙂
