When I was a child I never understood why people pray. I only knew that praying did not do much but it gets peace. My parents and siblings used to say to me to pray to God who is divine. But I never did it with my heart. I used to pray rarely but not wholeheartedly.

Then when I was 19 years old I read The Secret. I was happy and got inspired by the law of attraction and the Universe. I did not apply it in my life but I was unconsciously using it.

When I was 20 years old it was a time that I was experiencing depression. At that point, I read the mini version of Bhagwad Gita, the Hindu Holy book. I was hiding from everyone.  I never believed it but I thought that maybe that will give me the answer. Then after I completed reading it, I was feeling happy and joyful. At that time I slowly started to believe that something like God did exist. Then I slowly, whenever I felt like it, did research. I would think about which God should I pray to, or which one would listen to me, and many other questions like that. My sister is a firm believer in Lord Shiv, one of the Hindu Supreme Gods. So that also made me wonder about who or what  I should believe in. Then I read about Gautam Buddha and as well as about Jesus. In doing so I could see that all of them seemed similar and their teachings were similar. But I was always attracted to Lord Krishna.

In 2021 when I was a camp coordinator, I used to send lab technicians to camps but some people used to back out of going for some reason or other. So when I used to worry or feel tense about it, I used to chant:

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare,
Hare Rama Hare Rama
Rama Rama Hare Hare.

And then miraculously everything turned out smoothly. Still, I still did not know who to pray to. Then by end of the year, I bought the original Bhagwad Gita and started reading that and some of the things made sense to me.

Then in 2022, I started reading The Secret again and this time I applied teachings and I felt good. I was at peace. But still, there was a void in me about whom to pray to.

Then yesterday I was watching a mythological serial in which Lord Vishnu Krishna was teaching the way of life to Lord Shani. So today I thought of reading about Lord Shiv but I could not find much about him. So then I thought about reading about Lord Krishna. For an hour I read about miraculous stories of people who saw Lord Krishna. In one story, it was written that if you respect Lord Krishna, you respect Lord Shiv. If you respect Lord Shiv, you respect Lord Krishna.

Then I heard that lord Krishna is said to be the Universe. I searched for what the actual meaning of gratitude was and I understood that it is a pure form of life where there is no negativity.

At that moment I realized that for me, Lord Krishna IS the Universe! I understood! I got my answer to my question! I got my answer that the law of attraction is true and the Universe is also true. The way every individual depicts it is different so I know now who my lord is.
