Just like in any story, I have had my ups and downs, but as they say, all’s well that ends well. The same is the case with me.

I had read ‘The Secret’ on the recommendation of a close friend. I was looking for a job in finance but I found it difficult. I used to get offers for the job profiles that did not suit my aspirations, or the pay was not enough, or the location was not of my preference. There were many obstacles.

I tried to implement The Secret for the first time and I thought it worked. I got a call for an interview and I got selected. But they did not confirm my employment and kept me on hold. I waited for 3 months. At last, I found out that they were hiring only experienced people for that post now. I was devastated.

I learnt the lesson. I knew why The Secret did not work for me. I had fear during this waiting time. I had fear of not getting that job because I was on hold. A few hours after figuring this out, I was happy and came in good mood. The Secret had taught me to live in the present and not worry. I was glad that now I have a lot more opportunities. I did not have to be confined to wait for one job. I can get as many jobs and the kind of job offers that I wanted. So, I started to imagine that I had received my dream job.

Then after 2 weeks, I got call from a “big 4” regarding an opening at my favourite job location, with my dream job profile and really good pay.

I cleared the interview rounds. After the first round I was not very sure about my selection. Moreover, I had sent a thank you email to my employer and he did not approve of the gesture. Those things made my chances of my selection less.

But I kept believing anyway. This situation became funny. And, as they say, when you find humor in a serious situation, you win. I got a call from HR for a second round interview. I was happy beyond words and my trust in The Secret increased greatly. After second round, I was pretty sure of being selected.

Finally, I got a call from the company saying “Congratulations”. I am joining my dream job starting next month. I am very excited! Thank you God.
